Known use: The plant is used traditionally in Kenya by many communities for the treatment of malaria and other ailments. All parts of the plant are claimed to have medicinal value, but the roots in particular are believed to be more potent. Decoctions or infusions of the roots are drunk to treat malaria, fever and to cure stomachache. For toothache the root is chewed whereas for the treatment of coughs the fruits are chewed.
