Known use: The juice of the leaves of another Pentas sp., mixed with a small amount of water, is taken as a drastic purgative in East Africa. A decoction of the roots of sister species Pentas purpurea, mixed with sugar cane, is used by Tanzanian women to initiate the menstruation, whereas the juice of the plant is taken as a remedy for headache, fever and rheumatic pains.
