Known use: This plant is widely used in folk medicine as a demulcent, diuretic, aphrodisiac and emetic and for curing impotence; it also demonstrated strong anti-Helicobacter pylori activity. The plant has been used for the treatment of enteritis, dysentery, lymphadenoma, menorrhagia and hepatitis in Taiwan and Kwangton. It was also reported as one of the plants responsible for municipal greening by acting against air pollution.
